Larysa Ivashko

European Patent Attorney Trainee

M.Sc. Molecular Bioengineering

Larysa Ivashko is a patent attorney trainee at Maiwald. Her activities are mainly focused on intellectual property protection in the fields of biotechnology and pharmacy. She accumulated extensive experience from working as a scientific researcher in the areas of protein biochemistry, biotechnology, and molecular and cell biology at the Biotechnology Centre of the TU Dresden (BIOTEC), Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics and the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA). She gained further valuable experience from working in the R&D department of a biotechnology company.

For her master’s thesis, she researched the molecular mechanisms underlying assembly/disassembly of protein condensates which play an important role in the progression of neurodegenerative disorders. While working in the R&D department of a biotechnology company, she helped in the development of the antibodies used in cancer immune-checkpoint therapy.
