Events Series on Protection of New Technologies: On the Edge of Disclosure

On 8 November 2018, Dr-Ing. Sophie Ertl once again welcomed numerous invited guests to the latest of Maiwald’s event series dedicated to protection of new technologies. This time the event took place in the Maiwald offices located in the heart of Munich and concerned the wording of claims at the edge of disclosure. It became clear from their informative and entertaining talks that the speakers had delved deeply into the relevant case law. After a few welcoming words from Dr-Ing. Sophie Ertl, Dr Derk Vos kicked off with a talk on “Plausibility – A New Criterion for Patentability?”. This was followed by a talk from Dr Stephanie Parchmann on “Disclosure & Disclaimer – the Power of the Negative Thinking”. Dr Martin Huenges as final speaker discussed “Infringement of Methods Partially Performed Outside Germany – Recent Developments and Implications for Claim Drafting”.

We are proud that our “successful mix of interesting talks on current topics from the world of IP as well as the opportunity to mingle with colleagues from different fields in such an attractive setting” was rewarded with such positive feedback.  As always, we enjoyed the reception afterwards and the chance to establish new contacts and renew old acquaintances.

Some other comments from the participants:

“A very successful program and an excellent opportunity to establish personal contacts.”

“Up-to-the-minute and relevant topics presented in a lively way by very competent attorneys in a relaxed atmosphere above the rooftops of Munich. A very enjoyable series of seminars!”

“A good selection of topics and plenty of opportunities for networking. I’ll certainly come again!”
