Maiwald at LSPN North America Spring 2026 in Boston | April 29th-30th

At this year’s LSPN North America Spring conference in Boston, Dr. Anja Fux and Dr. Eva Ehlich opened Day 1 with a joint presentation on “Assessing inventive step in Europe – Diverging standards at the EPO and the UPC?”

In their talk, they compared how the EPO and the UPC assess inventive step, highlighted where the approaches currently align or differ, and discussed the practical implications for drafting, prosecution and enforcement of life sciences patents. The session sparked lively discussion on how these developments affect global portfolio and litigation strategies.

Maiwald was additionally represented on site by Dr. Gisela Gerstberger and Dr. Sun Jin Lee, who took part in the wider programme and networking activities.
