Ian Weaver has many years of experience in intellectual property law. His main areas of expertise include drafting patent applications, obtaining, securing and enforcing patents, conducting opposition and appeal proceedings as well as the assessment of third-party property rights and worldwide portfolio management. He gained particular expertise in electro-optical systems through his work for a British aerospace and defence company. He has also developed the technology and digital patent portfolio of an international pharmaceutical group and played a key role in shaping the strategic direction of patent protection for these technologies.
His technical focus is therefore on physics, aerospace, electrical systems, optics and optoelectronics, imaging systems, telecommunications, high-tech consumer goods, diagnostic systems and digitalization.
