Maiwald appoints Martina Boidol as partner

Maiwald, one of Germany’s leading IP law firms, has appointed Martina Boidol as partner with effect from 1 July 2023.

Martina Boidol, most recently a senior associate at Maiwald, joined the firm as a patent attorney in 2021. Her work is primarily focused on software, digitalisation, medical technology, control technology and semiconductor technology, whereby she has a particular interest in the implementation and application of AI.

She previously worked in the research and development department of a large business enterprise in the field of secure devices after which she spent several years in leading IP law firms advising, among others, German, American and Asian enterprises of various sizes and with different strategic focuses.

Martina Boidol studied physics with a focus on semiconductor physics at the Technical University of Munich. She was admitted as a European Patent Attorney in 2016, and as a German Patent Attorney in 2021.

Martina Boidol is highly experienced in planning filing strategies and preparing new patent and utility model applications as well as in portfolio management. She works in close contact with the client to gain a deep understanding of the underlying technical details, and also with the purpose of optimally aligning the respective IP rights with the client’s business strategy.

She has extensive experience in patent prosecution proceedings and hearings before the European Patent Office. She has participated with success in multilateral cases, including multinational litigation cases.

“We are very pleased to be able to further expand our business with Martina as a partner, especially in the areas of digitalization and software, and we wish Martina every success in her new role”, says Alexander Ortlieb, a partner at Maiwald.
