Maiwald at the 10th Munich IP Forum

On 21–22 September 2026, the Munich IP Forum will once again bring together leading representatives from industry, private practice, the judiciary, and the patent profession in Munich. The event provides a platform for exchanging insights on the latest developments in European patent law, with a particular focus on the Unified Patent Court (UPC). Maiwald is proud to participate once again as a Gold Sponsor and looks forward to engaging discussions with clients, colleagues, and industry experts.

Following an informal welcome reception on the evening before, including a session on the practical application of the UPC, the main conference day will focus on current challenges and future developments within the European patent system.

Highlights of the programme include:

  • practical insights into the UPC Rules of Procedure from both judicial and business perspectives,
  • alternative dispute resolution mechanisms for FRAND and biopharma disputes,
  • the impact of the BSH v. Electrolux decision on the international jurisdiction of the UPC and national courts,
  • a keynote address on recent developments in patent law, and
  • a discussion on the future of FRAND rate determination in an international context.

In addition to the technical sessions, the forum offers numerous networking opportunities, including the evening reception, coffee breaks, and the networking lunch.

The Munich IP Forum 2026 once again promises a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in European patent law while fostering dialogue among all stakeholders in the innovation and patent ecosystem.
