Electrical Engineer and IT Specialist

Oliver is a patent engineer at Maiwald, where he is a member of the growing engineering team. He previously carried out various studies at the Institute of Geodesy and Navigation, University of the German Federal Armed Forces (UniBwM) on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). His main project concerned the satellite experiment Equator-S investigating the utility of GPS in space. He later spent several years as a patent examiner at the German Patent and Trademark Office, where he was responsible for mobile communications and data transmission, before being drawn back into the world of satellite navigation. As systems engineer, Oliver most recently developed soft- and hardware for satnav receivers with the focus on encoding and decoding of satellite signals of all satnav systems currently in orbit. In cooperation with ESA he carried out research on the future GALILEO signals while at the same time overseeing the company’s patent interests.
