Dr Laura-Nadine Schuhmacher
M.Sc. Molecular Biosciences
Laura-Nadine Schuhmacher is a patent attorney trainee at Maiwald. Her activities relate mainly to intellectual property protection in the fields of biotechnology, biochemistry and pharmaceuticals. Through her research experience in various laboratories in Germany and the United Kingdom, Laura is particularly knowledgeable in the areas of stem cells research, gene therapy, genome engineering and molecular biology.
Her doctoral research concerned the characterization of ion channels responsible for pain perception. She later focused on neurodegenerative diseases and drug development during her postdoc. She is lead author of several scientific publications and has presented her research results at international conferences in Europe, USA and Argentina.
