Maiwald appoints Dr Claus Schindele as partner

On 1 November 2018, the law firm Maiwald, one of the leading law firms for IP in Germany, appointed Dr Claus Schindele as a partner.

Dr Claus Schindele studied chemistry at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich with a focus on organic physical chemistry. He was also associate lecturer at the University of California in Los Angeles. Dr Claus Schindele was admitted as a German Patent Attorney in 2005 and has been authorized representative at the European Patent Office since 2007. He joined Maiwald in 2017.

A major part of Dr Claus Schindele’s IP work involves advising clients on strategic issues in the various fields of chemistry. Other important activities are drafting patent applications, conducting European opposition proceedings and preparing legal opinions on validity and relevance of patents.

His scientific background comprises inorganic, organic and pharmaceutical chemistry. He has particular specialist expertise in the fields of polymer chemistry and thin film technology, especially photovoltaic cells.
