Axel Neidlein is head of Maiwald’s IP Consulting section whose goal it is to secure profitable growth for clients through innovation and IP. Axel has more than 25 years professional experience and has held management positions in international consulting firms where he was responsible for strategy, technology, innovation and growth in Germany and across Europe. He advises on a multiplicity of innovative technologies and products, from strategic planning to prototype design to market entry.

Axel’s areas of particular expertise are design and protection of business models and value chains in the field of technology, especially digitalization/Industry 4.0 and mechanical and electrical engineering, medical technology and software (e.g. artificial intelligence, blockchain).

Axel is teaching the IP Strategy and Digitalisation Module of the MANNHEIM & TONGJI Executive MBA of the Mannheim Business School which is the Graduate School of the University of Mannheim.
