The European Patent Office (EPO) has announced that its fees will increase from 1 April 2023. Most of the fees are increased by 3%. However, the fees for requesting an international search, a supplementary international search, and a preliminary examination of an international application remain unchanged. In many cases, a cost saving is possible by taking a required action and paying the fee before the increase takes effect.
