MAIinsight is back with its fourth issue!

This time, we focus on AI inventions and present articles on current case law on AI in Europe and other jurisdictions, as well as perspectives and insights that may help make AI-related inventions patentable.
The fourth issue also contains up-to-date information on decision G 2/24, which has just been published by the Enlarged Board of Appeal of the EPO, and on the new proposal G 1/25. In addition, MAIinsight Issue 4 deals with the EPO’s approach to inventive step in the case of non-obvious alternatives. With regard to the Unified Patent Court (UPC), issue 4 provides a detailed insight into the preservation of evidence (saisie) before the UPC and a discussion of the upcoming proposals for a unified supplementary protection certificate (uSPC) with regard to how the UPC’s jurisdiction over SPCs may change in the future.
