International Symposium in Tokyo

6 Oct 2022

On October 6, 2022 Maiwald and Oblon again jointly organised an international symposium on US and European patent practice. This year, it was possible to hold the Symposium as a face-to-face event which brought together around 30 participants in Tokyo. Apart from that, the attendees also took advantage of the opportunity to take part in the event online.

The symposium presented the latest developments and current aspects of IP practice in the US and Europe. In particular, the following topics were discussed:

  1. Unitary Patent and Unified Patent Court in EP – are you prepared?
  2. Eligible subject matter– an update from a U.S. perspective
  3. Support, Amendments, and enablement – EP and US perspectives

We would like to thank all the attendees, speakers and our friends and colleagues from Oblon for making our symposium again a great success. A huge thank you is especially given to Yorikatsu Hohokabe, Kasumi Kanetaka, James Love, Yuki Onoe and Rob Tarcu, as well as to our partners on site Dr Naho Fujimoto and Dr Norbert Hansen.
