While the Prosecution Ranking considers activities relating to applications, including official proceedings and portfolio management advice, the Disputes Ranking covers all patent-related disputes, including judicial and extrajudicial enforcement. The rankings cover more than 60 jurisdictions and evaluate filing, litigation and patent disputes.
MIP collected the data for the ranking itself, through its own research and by analysing publicly available information from sources such as courts and intellectual property offices. It also used existing data on the assessed law firms. The assessment focused particularly on professional expertise, volume of work, market and client reputation, track record, and specific strengths in particular practice areas.
