{"id":8660,"date":"2021-03-30T13:41:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-30T11:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.maiwald.eu\/auszeichnungen\/mip-awards-2021\/"},"modified":"2021-10-29T16:25:45","modified_gmt":"2021-10-29T14:25:45","slug":"mip-awards-2021","status":"publish","type":"auszeichnungen","link":"https:\/\/www.maiwald.eu\/jp\/awards\/mip-awards-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"MIP Awards 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>MAIWALD SECURES THREE AWARDS FOR PATENT AND SPC WORK IN GERMANY AND EUROPE<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Firm recognized for prosecution, litigation and Impact Case of the Year<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maiwald.eu\/fileadmin\/user_upload\/2021-03-25_Managing_IP_Awards_EMEA_21%404x.png\" alt=\"Managing IP Awards EMEA 2021\" width=\"136\" height=\"135\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The three awards for&nbsp;<strong>Maiwald<\/strong>&nbsp;were announced at the Managing IP Awards 2021 and presented in a virtual ceremony which was broadcast&nbsp;to a worldwide audience on March 30 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maiwald was named SPC\/Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year in Europe. Its work representing the University of California at the EPO proceedings for the CRISPR technology was cited in the presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The firm was also presented with the award for Cross-Border Patent Litigation Team of the Year (Europe) in recognition of its work acting for Mylan in its invalidity proceedings against the SPC for Truvada in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition,&nbsp;<em>Royalty Pharma Collection Trust v German Patent and Trademark Office<\/em>&nbsp;was named Impact Case of the Year (Germany). The firm represented Royalty Pharma in this case, in which the CJEU gave a judgment on April 30 2020. The Court provided guidance on article 3(a) of the SPC Regulation and the conditions for the grant of SPC protection for new products. Maiwald also advised the company on its IP-related deals with Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical and Agios Pharmaceuticals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maiwald has previously won Managing IP Awards in 2018 and 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Managing editor Ed Conlon<\/strong>&nbsp;said: &#8220;The pandemic has posed big challenges for businesses worldwide.
