Maiwald Congratulates on Passing the EQE Examination

We are very pleased to congratulate our four colleagues Dr Melanie HackerDr Lukas DelvosFrederike Grass and Dr Rainer Schiel on passing the European Qualifying Examination (EQE).

Dr Melanie Hacker joined Maiwald in 2017 and has been working as a German patent attorney in the fields of chemistry and pharmaceuticals, construction chemistry and plant protection since 2020. In particular, Dr Melanie Hacker deals with drafting and processing of patent applications relating to small molecules and organic synthesis.

Dr Lukas Delvos was admitted to practice as a German patent attorney in 2019 and at Maiwald mainly advises clients and companies from the pharmaceutical and chemical sector. Et al., Dr Lukas Delvos has gained special knowledge in the field of asymmetric transition metal catalysis during his doctoral research.

Frederike Grass is a patent specialist at Maiwald where she provides support to the firm’s engineering department. After studying mechanical engineering, she worked as a patent engineer in various IP law firms before joining Maiwald in 2020. Frederike Grass focuses primarily on the automotive and aeronautics industry as well as anti-friction bearings.

Dr Rainer Schiel joined Maiwald as a Doctor of Physics in 2020 to support the engineering team in the fields of mechanics, electrodynamics, quantum mechanics, optics and supercomputers. His broad expertise in the field of intellectual property law was acquired in various IP law firms and in an industrial patent department.
