On 15 September 2020, our patent attorney trainees took part in biotope management work with the Landesbund für Vogelschutz (State Association for the Protection of Birds) during a Social Day. For a day, the telephone and laptop were exchanged for a rake and pitchfork and the work was carried out in the fresh air.
With great enthusiasm and vigour, our 12-strong team spent an active day in the Schneidergrube near Gräfelfing in bright sunshine, where we helped the Landesbund für Vogelschutz to clear away the piles of mown meadow grasses and were provided with some exciting background on biotope management - including insights into a beehive and an encounter with a slow-worm. The reward was an organic team picnic in the shade - COVID-compliant of course - with haystacks and wheelbarrows as seating.
At the end of the day, our team was delighted with the results achieved and the opportunity to do their own work and make a commitment to the environment. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Landesbund für Vogelschutz, who made this commitment possible and provided our group with great support.
